Preferred Home Care of New York, a Licensed Home Care Agency is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will be responsible for collections and managing accounts receivable balances with MLTC's, HMO's and CHHA's. The A/R Specialist collects assigned accounts by payers through email and telephone; investigates circumstances of non-payment and resolves conflicts and expedites payments.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Collects assigned accounts by contacting customers through email and telephone; investigating circumstances of non-payment; negotiating and resolving conflicts; expediting payment

  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of assigned customer contracts

  • Review collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and evaluates effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures for assigned accounts

  • Review A/R aging to ensure compliance and generate aging analysis for assigned accounts

  • Ensure accounts receivable customer files and records are updated

  • Create and analyze reports on an as needed basis

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in home health care billing and collections is required (LHCSA preferred)

  • Billing and Accounts Receivable information systems/programs knowledge desired, preferably with HHAEX.

  • Experienced in applying cash, processing remittances and resubmission of claims

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Must be well organized and able to multi task

  • Excellent time management

  • Ability to accept direction and perform given assignments

  • Ability to define problems and tasks, collect data and establish facts and facilitate resolution.
